Lincoln Shrine Civil War Encampment
Redlands, CA

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine,  http://www.lincolnshrine.org/ is hosting an annual event to celebrate Lincoln's Birthday.

The Lincoln Shrine is the largest Abraham Lincoln-Civil War museum west of the Mississippi River and is located at 125 W. Vine St. in Redlands, CA. The Shrine is a rare Civil War jewel in the Southern California area and has been overlooked by the CW community.

The actual event is on Sunday, February 5th and the Shrine will draw at least 300-400 people on that day.
The lawn area in front of the Shrine is approximately 3/4 of a football field and they are looking for CW units to put on living history displays.

This is a one-day event and as of this writing it is unknown if firing demonstrations will be allowed and if allowed, if funds are available for limited artillery firing.

Reservations for camp/display space or questions can be addressed to Mr. Don McCue, the Curator of the Shrine at archives@akspl.org or by calling (909) 798-7632.

Sandy and Vern went last year and it was a most enjoyable and memorable evening. Includes a medley of “Civil War” songs by the 40-strong Redlands Community Chorus; make sure you know the correct words for our side, e.g., “Our flag is proudly floating on the land and on the plain—Shout, Shout the Battle Cry of Freedom … beneath it oft we’ve conquered and we’ll conquer once again …” Look for our brothers from Camp 1742 Redlands.
